Privacy Policy
Effective October 18, 2026
This policy explains what information Mind Field ("the game") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Mind Field is made by A4 Labs LLC ("we", "us"). It covers the game on the web (including mindfield.a4labs.app) and in our apps.
1. Information that stays on your device
When you play without signing in, your farm is saved only on your device, in your browser's or app's storage. This includes your farm's name, your farmer, your progress, your settings and your friends' farm cards. We can't see it. You can delete it at any time with "Start a new farm" in the You tab, or by clearing the site's data in your browser.
2. Information we collect
If you sign in (this is optional):
- Your email address, used only to sign you in (with a password or a one-time code) and to know which farm is yours.
- If you pick a password, it is stored scrambled, so nobody can read it, not even us.
- A copy of your farm (the same game save described above), so it can open on your other devices.
- Basic account records, such as when your account was made and when you last signed in.
If you send us feedback with the red flag or the "Send feedback" button:
- Your note, the kind of note (a problem, an idea or something you like), and your name if you choose to add one.
- Where you were in the game (for example, the screen, game and level), what kind of device and browser you used, and the version of the game, so we can find and fix problems.
- To stop spam, a scrambled code made from your internet address. We don't keep the address itself.
On some versions of the game, the red flag opens a text message to us instead. If you send it, we see your phone number, as with any text.
Anonymous play stats. We use PostHog to count how the game is used: which screens are opened, which games are played, at what level, and how they went (for example, passed, and how many rounds were right), plus when the app opens and when someone signs in or sends feedback. Each device gets a random ID so we can tell how many people come back. We never send your name, email, farm name, or anything you type. You can turn this off at any time in the You tab, under Help and privacy.
When you use the website, our host, Vercel, collects basic visit counts with Vercel Web Analytics: pages visited, the kind of device and browser, and the country. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you by name.
3. Information you share with friends
When you make a farm link, gift, trade, letter or duel link to send to a friend, the information it needs is written into the link itself: your farm card (your farm's name, your farmer's look, a summary of your progress, and the profile card you design), plus the letter, gift or offer. Anyone who has the link can see what is in it, so only send links to people you know. Today these links don't pass through our servers.
If you use Scan a friend's code, Mind Field uses your camera only while the scanner is open, to read the QR code. The camera picture stays on your phone. It is never saved or sent anywhere.
4. How we use information
- To run the game, save your farm, and let you sign in and play on more than one device.
- To read and act on feedback, fix bugs and make the game better.
- To keep the game safe, for example by limiting how many notes or sign-in codes can be sent.
We don't sell or rent your information. We don't use it for advertising. We don't use it to train AI models.
5. Who helps us run the game
We use a few service providers. They only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: sign-in, the cloud copy of your farm, and feedback storage. Servers are in the United States.
- Vercel: hosts the website and provides the visit counts described above.
- PostHog: the anonymous play stats described above. Servers are in the United States.
- An email delivery service: sends your sign-in codes.
- Apple and Google: if you get the game from their app stores, they handle the download and their own privacy policies apply.
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players or the game.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account and the cloud copy of your farm: until you delete your account.
- Feedback notes: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Anonymous play stats: up to 2 years.
- Backups may keep a copy for a short time after you delete something.
7. Your choices and rights
- Play without an account. Signing in is never required to play.
- Delete your account in the game: You tab, then "Save my farm", then "Delete my account". This deletes your sign-in and the cloud copy of your farm.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to fix it, or to delete it, by emailing support@a4labs.app. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have more rights under the law. We honor them for everyone.
8. Children
Mind Field is not made for children under 13, and signing in is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
9. Keeping it safe
Information sent to and from the game is encrypted (HTTPS). The database only lets each signed-in player reach their own farm. Passwords are stored scrambled, and you can skip passwords entirely by signing in with a one-time code. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the game's "What's new" notes. If a change is big, we'll ask before using information in a new way.
